Botox in Boca Raton, FL
Our lives are filled with emotion, which reflects in our faces. Happiness, sadness, and anger, for example, all affect the lines on our faces and around our eyes. In addition, sun exposure, genetics, and daily stress can exacerbate the lines on the forehead and crow’s feet. These changes can occur as early as the mid 20’s and become more prominent as the years pass if not treated. These lines tend to make you feel older, more tired, or angrier than you feel.
Board-certified Boca Raton plastic surgeon Dr. Albert Dabbah offers the popular non-invasive injectable, Botox®, to slow down and counter these lines and wrinkles. It is most commonly used on the forehead, between the eyebrows, and the crow’s feet. It can also be injected into the “bunny” lines of the nose, the chin, and the neck to calm the muscle action in those areas. It can also be strategically injected to improve facial symmetry.

What is Botox and How Does it Work?
Botox is a neuromodulator and is one of many, such as Dysport® and Xeomin®. Because Botox was the first on the market and is presently the most frequently used, you will hear people speak of Botox. When injected into the muscles that create expression, such as squinting or frowning, Botox blocks the nerve signals to that muscle, hindering the contraction of that muscle relaxing the skin, and eliminating or softening the lines of the skin.
Botox Consultation With Dr. Dabbah
During a consultation for facial rejuvenation, Dr. Dabbah will discuss your concerns and analyze your distinctive facial movements. He will then determine if Botox is an appropriate procedure for you. Dr. Dabbah will review how he will inject the areas of concern and what he expects the outcome to be. Every patient’s cosmetic goals and facial anatomy are unique, and a plastic surgeon with knowledge of the intricacies of the muscles of the face is the appropriate provider to customize your treatment.
What is Dr. Dabbah's Procedure for Botox?
Dr. Dabbah performs Botox in the office. The patient may choose to have numbing cream applied to the area to relieve any discomfort from the injections, although the injections are generally well tolerated.
Before proceeding with the injections, Dr. Dabbah will confirm the areas that will be treated with the patient. He will ask the patient to make a variety of expressions to determine the precise muscle to inject, and injections are done with a tiny needle. A single treatment can take up to 15 minutes, depending on the number of sites to be injected. If there is a loss of volume, for example, in the area between the brows, Dr. Dabbah can inject dermal fillers to plump up the area.
You may resume your activities immediately following the injections, although Dr. Dabbah requests no pressure be placed on the sites treated and no physical exercise for the remainder of the day. Lastly, he suggests the patient refrain from makeup and sunblock for 6 hours to alleviate potential bacteria entering the injection sites. The patient may notice small bumps and redness, but both resolve within 15 minutes. The most common side effects of Botox are a slight headache, tenderness to the touch, and possible bruising.
"Dr. Dabbah is one of most trustworthy, thoughtful and kind doctors I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. His attention to detail and kind demeanor made everything about my visit with him comfortable and disarming."
Why Choose Dr. Albert Dabbah for Botox?
Dr. Dabbah’s background in facial anatomy and his nearly 30 years in practice have allowed him to address facial variations. In addition to smoothing out the forehead, crow’s feet, frown lines, and bunny lines, he can sculpt the upper third of the face to open your eyes and lift the brows. He is also known to help asymmetries. Dr. Dabbah has smoothed out the dimples in the chin with Botox and weakened the platysmal bands of the neck. Dr. Dabbah is known for his natural results in surgery, which are also applied to injectables. His patients do not look frozen but can continue to express themselves appropriately.
Recovery After Botox Injections
First-time Botox patients notice the effect of Botox within five days to two weeks. Those who have been treated previously notice the effect of Botox within a day or two. The results of Botox can last from three to four months, depending on how active the patient is with expressions. Consistent use of Botox can train the muscles to stop contracting, allowing the results to last longer. Patients who have had a facelift or eyelid surgery will still love the effects of Botox and dermal fillers.
