Your Breast Reduction Consultation
Your consultation with Dr. Dabbah is the first step toward a boost in your self-confidence. During the consultation, Dr. Dabbah will review your medical history, including any previous breast surgery, and ask you what your concerns are regarding your breasts and what you hope to achieve, including breast size. He does an exam of the breast, looking at nipple position and elasticity of the skin and assessing the weight of the breasts. He will take some measurements of the breasts and the areolas. He then is able to come up with a treatment plan. Dr. Dabbah’s goal is to achieve the size that you envision while keeping in mind your body shape. He will always provide his patients with an honest assessment.
What Does Breast Reduction Surgery Involve?
Under general anesthesia in an outpatient surgery center, Dr. Dabbah makes incisions, as discussed in the consultation. An incision is made around the areola and down the center of the breast to the crease of the breast. There is usually an incision made along the crease of the breast; the length depends on the size of the reduction. Through those incisions, Dr. Dabbah removes breast tissue, fat, and skin and reshapes the breast to a more youthful and attractive position. The areolas are reduced and lifted to a higher position on the smaller, more aesthetic breast. Dr. Dabbah uses internal sutures to support the breast in its new position and surgical glue and tape to close the skin. You will wake up in the recovery room. Once alert, you will be discharged. You will need a friend or family member to drive you home.
